Des Moines, USA | Beautiful Church Wedding and Tea Rooms Reception

Madi and Jake both grew up in Des Moines, Iowa so it was touching that they decided to get married in their hometown. Both the church they chose for their ceremony and the Tea Rooms reception venue were lovely locations, both architecturally striking, so looked great on film.

From the moment of their first look, through the entire wedding day both Madi and Jake were beaming with happiness so I knew their film would be a happy and warm one, but their emotional and tearful vows took me buy surprise, and became the main sound bed for their whole film.

Despite their wedding taking place during a strange and difficult year, with restrictions on the day, the couple were clearly too lost in the celebration of their love story to care too much and this shines through in every moment of the film.

I love shooting authentically, allowing the day to unfold naturally and it is only in the editing process that I craft the film, weaving a story from the shots and using music to emphasis the emotion of the day.

I also love when couples trust me to make the best film possible from the content I capture, and Madi and Jake were great at allowing me to fill their film with some stylistic flair.

I love shooting weddings and can’t wait to get back to it ASAP!

Enjoy the film.
