Müge and Jonathan | West Reservoir, London Wedding

Müge and Jonathan (also known as Anandavajra)  decided to get married close to home in London, in one of the most picturesque corners of the city.  The views from their apartment were not only breath-taking, they also overlooked the reception venue: West Reservoir Sports Centre, a stunning art-deco style 1930's filter house, still housing the interesting pipes and valves etc from that time.Their apartment view gave me an oppurtunity to take some shots of the venue from up high (something not normally possible in London where drones are, on the whole, not permitted).I am a fan of interesting architecture, and unusual locations, and I always make sure to showcase these in the most artistic way possible in my films, building up a sense of the space the wedding takes place in.  The couple noticed this about my work, and as as they had chosen their venues carefully, understood how important this often overlooked part of the film can be.The ceremony took place at Stoke Newington Town Hall, which was built at a similar time to West Resoviour so was a great match architecturally to the reception venue.  The light during the emotional ceremony was perfect, a beam of sunlight shining down on the couple throughout, which looked great on the film. After drinks (and some impromptu dancing!) at the grand Clissold Park Mansion near the town hall, the couple and their guests took a Routemaster bus to the Reservoir for the rest of the day.  The room was dressed beautifully and the couple made their entrance to some traditional Turkish music  (which resulted in more dancing!).The speeches during the wedding breakfast, and the readings during the ceremony, were some of the most heartfelt and emotional ones I've captured this year, and it was hard to choose what to include in the short film. After a beautiful sunset portrait shoot alongside the photographer, Haydyn Rydings, the day ended (appropriately) with more dancing! It was great to be part of the Müge and Jonathan's day, which was full of smiles, warmth and emotion, which I hope comes across in the film.
