Aimee and Brad were married at the picturesque Blake Hall in Essex. The grounds are so well kept at the venue, so I always like to arrive in time to take some establishing footage for my films there. Establishing a sense of place is an important part of my wedding videographer style so I always try and make time for this if I can.
Aimee and her bridesmaids and flower girl got ready in the cottage on site, which is a really nice bright and airy location, perfect for this part of the day, especially when coupled with the truly heartfelt words her dad gave about his daughter later in the day.
The couple had a relaxed drinks reception which I always love as people are just chatting and enjoying each other’s company which always makes for some great footage and this part of the day also allowed me and the photographer, Sammy Taylor, to take some footage of the couple. Sammy is equal parts lovely and talented so it was a pleasure to work along side her in the day.
We also took the couple out nearer sunset to take some great “golden hour” shots in the field nearby.
Aimee and Brad chose Lovelight as their DJs of choice, which is always great for me as their lighting setup works so well on camera and allowed me to capture my favourite shot of Aimee and Brad from the day with their heads backlit with dust motes floating behind them- it doesn’t get much better than that!
During Brad’s speech he mentioned filming his proposal to Aimee and I asked him to send me the footage, which turned out to be a perfect way to start their film.
