I love London, not only do I live here, but I also love shooting here. Also, after meeting Laura and Paddy at the Oyster Shed in London for a few drinks, I knew they were the sort of couple I love working with: joyful, easy going and more than happy for me to produce their film in the best way I see fit. I couldn't wait!
The day started at The Montcalm at the Brewery, where both bride and groom were getting ready. This allowed for some great shots of them both, before Paddy and his groomsmen headed to a nearby pub for a drink.
I managed to capture Laura reading her card from Paddy, which worked as a great piece of audio to go with these morning shots.
St George's Cathedral is a stunning location for a wedding ceremony and I couldn't get enough of the dramatic architecture, which meant I actually went back a couple of days after the wedding to grab a few more establishing shots as there wasn't much time for this on the wedding day - one of the benefits of a local wedding!
The reception took place at the Oyster Shed, right on the River Thames, which was a great setting to take some shots of the newlyweds enjoying the view alongside the talented and award-winning David Michael Photography . I like to keep this part of the day as natural as possible, just allowing the couple some time to themselves, rather than staging lots of awkward poses!
Paddy gave a great speech after their wedding breakfast, which worked really well alongside shots of the couple enjoying their day.
Paddy and Laura chose the highly accomplished band The Talent for their evening entertainment, which went down very well with the guests, especially Laura's dad who was on the dance floor until we left!
