Daniel and Hayley live in Singapore but they met and fell in love in and around London. As the city was important to them, and an integral part of their day, I made sure it was also a key focus of their film. As a Londoner myself, I knew what a great location their reception venue (the Oyster Shed) was in. The restaurant is nestled between London Bridge and Cannon Street, with great views of the Shard and Tower Bridge in the distance. Having worked at the venue before, I also understood what a big part the river would play in their day, with boats travelling past throughout, so I made a point of building up a picture of the Thames during the opening shots of their film.
The day itself was a relaxed and happy one, starting at a church in North London, followed by a memorable trip down to the City on a London icon: a red Routemaster bus. We had time for some nice couples shots outside the Oyster Shed, including Daniel and Hayley choosing to climb up on the Thames path wall(!) before they sat down for dinner.
Daniel gave a truly heartfelt speech, some of which is included in the film, before the couple and their family and friends danced the night away.
It’s always great when the wedding day is a relaxed and friendly one, as this always comes across in the film and makes my job much easier too!
